Which is the best Halloween episode?

Remember the Halloween specials and discover the best-rated by fans

Throughout its eight seasons, the TV series Bewitched featured five special episodes that were dedicated to Halloween. However, the show's 5th, 7th, and 8th seasons did not have any such episodes. Here you can learn more about these Halloween episodes, find interesting facts, and check out the ratings they received on the website IMDb, which is a popular platform specializing in movies and TV shows.

Originally aired on October 30, 1969, this is the Halloween episode with the lowest rating given by fans who voted on IMDB.

Darrin's participation in Halloween and his lack of respect for witches leads to Endora being angry enough to transform him into a stereotypical witch.

This event takes place in the sixth season, which is notable for the arrival of Dick Sargent on the show. The characterization of the actor is an obvious allusion to Margaret Hamilton's portrayal of the Wicked Witch of the West from the classic film "The Wizard of Oz" (1939).

Aired in the debut season, this was the first Halloween episode of the show.

The plot revolves around Samantha's desire to stop Mr. Brinkman, Darrin's client, from using an unattractive old witch in his advertising campaign. With the help of Aunt Clara, Bertha, and Mary, Samantha teaches the prejudiced client a lesson.

Following the pattern of scripts from the first year, the episode chooses to give more emphasis to the discussion about stereotypes and prejudices and leaves the special effects in the background. It was well-received by fans and currently has a rating of 8.2 on IMDB, ranking fourth among the most popular Halloween episodes.

This episode was aired on October 29, 1964, and marked the debut of veteran actress Marion Lorne as the adorable and clumsy Aunt Clara, who would become a recurring character in the series.

This was the first color Halloween episode, aired in the third season when the series transitioned from black and white to color. The scenography team did an exceptional job of creating a vibrant atmosphere with the new technology.

In the plot, Endora hosts a Halloween party at Darrin and Samantha's house. However, Uncle Arthur, who was not invited, decides to cause trouble for Endora. Meanwhile, Samantha's main concern is keeping her nosy neighbor, Gladys Kravitz, away from the party.

Despite contradicting our previous knowledge about Endora's sentiments towards Halloween, this episode is highly entertaining. A Feiticeira was experiencing one of its highest points in the third year with creative scripts and a well-matched cast. This is one of the 11 episodes where the actor Paul Lynde delighted the audience with his eccentric character, Uncle Arthur. In this episode, Sandra Gould, who replaced actress Alice Pearce as Gladys, makes her first appearance in a Halloween special.

In the episode aired on October 27, 1966, Baseball player Willie Mays makes a quick but fun cameo playing himself. This surprises Darrin who discovers that the athlete is also a wizard. The episode includes some memorable moments between Endora and Arthur. With a score of 8.5, this Halloween classic ranks third.

The episode was originally aired on October 26, 1967. It revolves around Tabitha, who becomes the central character in a Halloween story. In the plot, Darrin and Samantha decide to introduce their daughter to Halloween. But, Tabitha gets excited about a storybook and without Samantha's knowledge, ends up bringing three characters from literature into the real world.

In Tabitha's book, the characters are a leprechaun, a Jack-o'-Lantern, and a Troll. Later, the Troll reappeared in episode S07e19, "Samantha and the Troll", played by the same actor, Felix Silla, in both appearances.

It has an IMDB score of 8.7.

The episode was first broadcasted on October 28, 1965. It features the well-known feud between Endora and Darrin, which escalates when she transforms him into a werewolf. As the story progresses, Larry and a client come to Stephens' house, and the situation becomes increasingly chaotic. Dick York's physical comedy is on full display as the lobby gets more and more out of control.

At just 9 years old, little Maureen McCormick played the role of Endora in the children's version.

Out of the eight seasons of the show, this episode is probably the most memorable Halloween-themed one. Just like "A Safe and Sane Halloween", it has an IMDB score of 8.7, but with a significantly larger number of voters.
