Bewitched House Demolition Captured in Images

Studio Lot Set to Become the Largest Studio Complex in the US

It was recently reported that the historical Warner Bros. ranch in Burbank, California has been sold to real estate developers. Unfortunately, the neighborhood that was the backdrop for many classic TV shows like I Dream of Jeannie (1965 - 1970), Batman (1966 - 1968), The Donna Reed Show (1958 - 1966), and Bewitched (1964 - 1972) will be torn down to make way for a US$500 million renovation.

The new complex will feature 16 sound stages, a multi-level parking structure, and an impressive office building that will house Warner Bros. in two towers. Sadly, the home of Samantha and Darrin from Bewitched was demolished on Friday, October 13, 2023.

It's interesting to know that the water fountain used in the opening credits of Friends (1994 - 2004) was also on the lot. However, according to the Los Angeles Times, it was transferred to Warner's main studio, which is a mile away.

Recently, a video of the demolition has been released by a cameraman who flew over the site with a drone.

Many fans took to social media to express their sadness over the demolition of the Bewitched house: "I think it's just terrible. So much history just gone.". A fan nicknamed 80's Trivia replied: "This is devastating to pop culture fanatics such as myself!"

However, even though the house no longer exists within the walls of Warner, it remains alive with its green lawn and blue sky within the imagination of thousands of fans around the world, who have been celebrating its magic on screen for almost 60 years.

It's amazing how a piece of fiction can touch so many people's hearts and become an icon.
